I'll be honest, I liked the notion behind

Only a couple clicks and a customer can set an order with a freelancer based on a specific set of deliverables.

Easy peasy, right? Sure, but it comes at a cost. A large one.

That is just one the very few freelance platforms in which buyers have been given free reign to abuse, sabotage and blackmail sellers any way that they like.

In this informative article, I would like to share a new bad experience as a seller on Fiverr, and also why I decided to give up on the stage entirely.

While I have been using Fiverr myself (off and on ) for a while, this particular experience relates to my girlfriend's account, not my own.

(I've been advising her on building a respectable accounts, and the way to go beyond and above every last order. Everything stated is her doing, I'm just an observer.)

In this case, she'd only gotten another $5 order on her emblem gig, which seemed to be similar to any other... or so we thought.

The purchase was fulfilled in great time, and my buddy had even included a bonus logo concept in addition to the source file (that is usually a part of the costlier bundle ).

The customer"loved" one of those concepts so we proceeded to send her the appropriates record sizes, as stated in the final description.

The client came back asking for a social networking kit to go with the logo, something that is clearly not available as a member of her post.

In my advice, my buddy decided to deliver the further job, despite not getting paid any extra for it.

After that, the customer responded with even more demands and some modifications to the social media files.

At this point, she concurred enough was enough.

Despite every attempt to please this individual, they were clearly overstepping their bounds here.

This is when the customer went from simply overstepping boundaries to unquestionable blackmail. (The equivalent of taking my girlfriend Fiverr reputation hostage.)

While she took a while to ponder a response and reach out to Fiverr service for assistance, the client did finally go on and render a 1 star review.

Presumably this was to demonstrate her he/she wasn't Fiverr Review- 21 Easy Gigs to get your Fiverr Business Started kidding.

Soon after, while waiting on Fiverr's response to the support question, the client paid an additional $10 to your social networking kit.

Obviously, the payment has been accompanied by still another threat.

At this point, all I wanted to do was move all Liam Neeson and hunt this individual down so I could punch them from the face.

But, at the moment, I still had hope that Fiverr support would step in and save my girlfriend out of this PITA client.

When the answer came from Fiverr service, they told that they couldn't Honest Fiverr Review: Is It Legit Or A Scam? – Jon – Medium induce the purchaser to accept the order.

Okay, that's reasonable enough. (though the buyer accepted it, technically.)

They also suggested drawing up a listing for the purchaser to show the job was completed in accordance to the gig requirements.

My girlfriend communicated in her first email that the client was attempting to extort her for free work outside the agreed terms, by making a negative inspection if she did not comply.

Naturally, it was not about the work, it was all about seeking protection against an abusive client who had been intentionally pushing their luck.

Their reply did not provide us some assurance that Fiverr really knew , and even at this stage we felt as though they did not wish to get involved.

At the identical time, she also responded to the buyers latest more helpful hints danger, explaining that she would not continue to operate with them unless the feedback had been changed/removed.

(Again, this can be comments which was obviously and intentionally left to bully her to providing work out of the agreed provisions .)

A fair petition by anyones standards, correct?

Instead of acknowledge what the buyer had done up until this point, Fiverr immediately turned the tables in my girlfriend.

Turns out, she was the only breaking all the rules.

Since she'd asked the client to modify their opinions, she was no longer eligible for any help from Fiverr assistance.

It's possible to imagine how we felt studying this.

Everything that the buyer had said and done before her final message was now being swept under the rug -- as if never happened in any respect.

Fiverr basically chose to encourage a manipulative bully, leaving my girlfriend with a permanent stain on an account she'd worked so hard to accumulate.

If everything that occurred was not upsetting enough, it is knowing that this man is still running rampant on Fiverr, preying on defensless sellers without a shred of repercussion.

And believe me, there are loads of buyers doing exactly that on Fiverr, knowing they could and will get away with it.

But as all this was occurring, I did some research to find out whether some other vendors went through a similar ordeal with an individual buyer.

Very quickly, I discovered a range of nearly identical cases over the Fiverr forum outdated years back. (that's correct, years.)

This is clearly something which's been happening for quite a while and it all stems from giving buyers too much power over sellers.

If there's 1 thing I've heard about Fiverr, it's that customers are ALWAYS more appreciated than freelancers.

Regardless of how much time you put into a project, or just how hard you've worked on itor even how well you handled communication in a dispute, even if it actually boils down to it... freelancers have little to no security.

Even when it's a very clear cut situation in your favor, there's still every chance the customer will come out at the top. All it takes it one little thing that you"did no way" according to their own terms of support and EVERYTHING else is ignored

Looking at the signs, it's obvious to me that Fiverr is well aware of what's going on, yet remains keen to settle back and let it happen.

A Last Message To Fiverr. If you are a decision maker in Fiverr and you're reading this, then I urge you to seriously reconsider your current support processes for freelancers.

It's not right that someone can place all that time and effort into establishing an account and over-delivering at every conceivable chance, only to be shot down from the very people you rely on to safeguard you.

Look, I do not need to leave Fiverr. I don't wish to be telling people to avoid your own platform.

But after everything that's occurred, you have not left me any decision.

Until something is done to safeguard freelancers from using this type of abuse, I'll continue to propagate this post and do whatever I could to stop others from falling prey to a one-sided support team.

The second you actually do something about this and provide freelancers a means to fight , I will be more than happy to update the post.
